CQ WPX SSB 2013 DR1A M/M

Easter and WPX SSB contest. That was something new! Because of the holidays not so many Op's were present, but in the end everything went well! The first already arrived on Thursday so they could enjoy the Friday. The weather was unfortunately showing its cold variant - spring was still far away. The snowdrops tinkled softly.

RDXC DR1A M/2

Very, very nice contest! Originally I had planned to do Single OP All Bands, but at some point YL Sandy, DL1QQ, asked if she could join. I changed category in my mind from Single OP to Multi/Two, which would enable both of us to operate the full 24 hours. Some days before the contest Joerg, DF6JC, asked if somebody would use the station for the contest. So we were three. Saturday evening Marek, DL/SP3LPG, came in to say hello. From that point on we were four :-)

ARRLDX CW DL6FBL SOAB HP

Just came home after 2 weeks in Egypt (combined work and vacation stay on the Red Sea) right before the contest. Had no time for any preparations. Station played well, but propagation did not behave on Saturday. Sunday felt much better, and we were all rewarded with a decent opening on 10 meters.

CQWW 160m CW: DR1A M/S HP

The propagation during the first night were not convincing, it got better later on. Japan was again difficult, but the multiplier EA6FB in the very last minute was a forgiving end.
